Nazarbayev at the XXIV session of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan on 26 April 2016. On the basis of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Mediation" dated 28 January 2011, the institute of mediation is currently functioning in Kazakhstan. This is a legal institution that regulates various disputes arising from civil, labour, family, corporate legal relations, including in connection with the implementation of entrepreneurial and other economic activities, as well as criminal offences of minor and medium gravity. The use of mediation reduces the burden on the courts and provides the parties with a faster, more flexible and confidential tool for resolving conflicts and disputes. Today, one of the main ways of regulating violated rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of citizens is judicial defence.
