This book analyzes the proposals for training ethical medical professionals and modifiers of reality, understanding the influences of the perspective of popular education in such proposals. From the point of view of popular education, education has the mission to form ethical subjects, recognizing the need for a comprehensive training of the human being to face social issues, mobilizing emancipatory practices. We will discuss the potentialities for the ethical and transformative training of the health professional in the subject, corresponding to the teaching strategies assumed in the normative documents of the course in question; and analyze, from the historical context of the USF's medical course, the contribution of popular education in medical training from the perspective of an ethical and libertarian education. With the analyses, it was possible to identify: the training of the medical professional from the technical-scientific and methodological aspects based on popular education; as well as the approach of the so-called "generating themes", which focus on the reality of the population where future doctors already work or will work, taking into account the context of their professional practices.
