In this context, traditional ecological knowledge (TEK) and its implication in the field of ethnobiology is of special focus in view of its grim scenario due to the diverse environmental perturbations. Therefore, specific emphasis should be given to ethno-medicinal plants while setting priorities for biodiversity conservation in India. Etnomedicines, derived from plants, enjoy a respectable position today, especially in the developing countries, where modern health service is limited.
