Produktbeschreibung
A total of 130 medicinal plants from the Republic of Djibouti are presented in alphabetical order of their scientific name in Latin. Their systematic botanical classification (family, genus, species), their common name in French and their vernacular names (in Somali, Afar and Arabic) are also given. It is a major work of pharmacognosy because it is the first time that the plants of the Republic of Djibouti are illustrated and approached simultaneously from an ethnobotanical, chemical and pharmacological point of view. "This book is intended not only for the initiated but also for the whole population because of its didactic explanations. Let's hope that it will contribute to the preservation of this rich but fragile flora where each plant may contain hundreds of chemical compounds among which there may be an active principle that would provide a solution to a disease. Pr. Dominique Laurain-Mattar, extract from the preface.
