The result of the floristic inventory of medicinal plants in the markets has identified 100 plant species to date. The medicinal flora inventoried in the markets of the western part of the city of Kinshasa includes 100 taxa, 99 of which are determined at the specific level, i.e. 99%, and 1 at the generic level, i.e. 1%. The most preponderant families in species are Fabaceae (14 species), Euphorbiaceae (10 species), Rubiaceae (7 species). The statistical analysis of biological types shows a clear predominance of phanerophytes with 78% of species. In our study, phanerophytes are best provided in Euphorbiaceae (8 out of 10), Fabaceae (14 out of 14), Rubiaceae (7 out of 7). The statistical analysis of morphological types shows that the arborescent species predominate with 65%. In our study, out of 13 organs listed, the root is the most used organ with 190 citations (31, 84 %). The mode of preparation most used in our study is the decoction with 273 citations (45, 72 %). The oral route is the most used mode of administration in our study with 385 citations (64.5%).
