"Sweetheart, listen to me. I would never hurt you. I only want to help you. Let me help you," he argued. Once again, the girl's cheeks wavered red at the endearment. He seemed truthful. "You promise you won't hurt me?" Melody moved her pinky forward in an attempt to officiate the promise. "I promise." The man replied instantly but stared blankly at the girl's gesture. He could not understand what she was doing. Upon realising his confusion, she stood up and gently took his hand in an effort to join their pinkies. Leonardo relished in the feeling of her touching him. Her touch was light and delicate; it was perfect. "Now kiss your thumb", the girl demanded. Leonardo almost laughed at her stern voice but remained confused. "Kiss my thumb?" he repeated. "Yes, like this." Melody reached up to kiss her thumb whilst her pinky remained entangled with the man's. Leonardo smiled at the girl's innocence. He had not smiled for a while. Quickly, he replicated her action and bent down to kiss his thumb. Upon realising their close proximity, the girl jolted away from him. Her eyes darted to the floor anxiously. Leonardo watched her in absolute adoration. To him, she was more than perfect.
