Born at a pirate radio station in the Gulf of Mexico, nine-pound Shih Tzu Micawber learns HumanSpeak after listening for hours to 1960's rock 'n' roll. Being able to talk like a human isn't enough, though. The plucky pooch soon teaches himself how to read and write, and develops an interest in literature and the law. A serendipitous turn of events leads Micawber from an uncertain future to his forever human companions, Isabelle King and criminal defense attorney Theodore Wilkes. An even stranger twist of events leads Micawber to be reunited with canine family members who otherwise would have been lost to him had he not published his Memoirs of a Law Dog. Follow Micawber in his Quixotic quest to Do Good, assisted by his canine pals Wildman Cody, Bruno, and Captain Jack in preventing acts of human folly and miscarriages of justice while adding a loving but firm paw to human affairs. Along the way, Micawber uses his wisdom and tender heart to promote romance wherever love may bloom. Micawber shares a unique canine perspective on life, and provides a memorable reading experience for everyone, dog lovers and mystery readers alike, as he relates his adventures in an inimitable erudite and witty style.
