Autorenporträt
I've never been the girl next door. I was more the, "I want excitement and adventure girl," and boy, have I had it! At seventeen I won Miss North Kansas City/Miss Kansas City North in the Miss Missouri/Miss World Pageant in 1965 and was honored to win Miss Congeniality. At nineteen, I auditioned and won a place in a ballet company that traveled throughout Europe. I had a successful career in restaurant management, before and after the military. At just under the age of 35, joined the U.S. Navy and was one of the first 50 enlisted women to serve aboard a Navy ship and served honorably as a Radioman for 7 years. Now at 75 and legally blind, I am doing what I love most, writing and taking care of my sweet Beagle, Snoopy.
