My husband Jeff Loftus was just born good. Understood? Understood. Exactly one week before my daughter's wedding, my beloved husband died unexpectedly. He was doing something he loved - mountain biking. He had just turned 60. Heartbroken and filled with grief, we resolutely knew what he would want us to do. The wedding was ethereal. Angels graced us with their presence, and the carefully chosen words of our pastor set the tone: "To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven.A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance."Ecclesiastes…mehr

Angels graced us with their presence, and the carefully chosen words of our pastor set the tone: "To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven.A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance."Ecclesiastes 3:1, 3 Two weeks later, we celebrated Jeff's extraordinary legacy. Hundreds of friends and family gathered to pay their respects. For someone who liked to fly under the radar, he sure knew how to draw a crowd. Through my poems, I find peace knowing our memories will always live on. I hope you glimpse the essence of my husband and the incredible life we shared. Whether you knew him for minutes, a few years, or a lifetime, he left a lasting impact on every single person he met. My desire for anyone reading these pages is that within them you will find light, love, and laughter.
Autorenporträt
Donna Loftus is an energetic and resilient people-person who resides in sunny Southern California. She is blessed with four daughters, three sons (in-law), and her soon to be seven grandchildren who affectionately call her "Nonni." Her heavenly hubby was the calm to her feisty. Her morning coffee is non-negotiable, and her runs are sacred. She has trotted all over the globe with her husband, landing just shy of seven continents. Thanks in large part to her full-blooded Italian heritage, Donna is slightly obsessed with collecting new recipes and creating specialties of her own. Making her traditional meat sauce is a labor of love and always cause for a celebration. On occasion she is known to throw back a Kamikaze shot and get low on the dance floor to her favorite song, "You Shook Me All Night Long." Her love of books has been apparent from a young age when she read the Collier's Encyclopedias for fun. Nowadays she appreciates a sappy rom-com and sometimes a good survivor tale, like Educated. After many rewarding years as a full-time mom and educator, she is expanding her horizons. Her faith, boisterous family, and loyal friends feed her soul, keep her sane, and helped her write this book. Sixty-one years is all it took!
