Peter E. Gillquist was an archpriest in the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America and chairman of the Department of Missions and Evangelism for the archdiocese. One of the founders of the erstwhile Evangelical Orthodox Church, Fr. Peter served for many years on the editorial board of Conciliar Press (now Ancient Faith Publishing). Fr. Peter was educated at the University of Minnesota, Dallas Theological Seminary, and Wheaton College Graduate School. In the 1960s, he was regional director of Campus Crusade for Christ, and later senior book editor at Thomas Nelson Publishers. He has authored numerous books, including the bestselling Becoming Orthodox: A Journey to the Ancient Christian Faith (Conciliar Press/Ancient Faith Publishing, 1989). Fr. Peter reposed on July 1, 2012.
