On the morning after his seventh birthday, Skyla gives her son a gift without his knowledge. Also, without his consent. She has all his painful memories excised from his brain. She considers it the best gift of all. The memory of a perfect childhood. But no one could possibly gift something that simply does not exist. At least, not without unfortunate consequences. Memory Games secured an Honorable Mention in the L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future Contest (July-September 2023).
