More evidence is needed on the effectiveness of mental health, psychosocial support and early childhood development interventions in complex emergencies and their sustainability post-disaster. Importantly, a post-disaster focus on improving access to community-based mental health, psychosocial support and early childhood development services is a priority for global relief agencies, including the World Health Organization, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and non-governmental organizations International Medical Corps, HealthNet TPO and Doctors Without Borders.
