This study examined the aspects of merger and acquisition activities and their implementations on the Turkish cement sector. First, general outlook, aim, conditions and methods of the merger and acquisition activities are explained. As the US market is the most developed market in terms of corporate activity, I presented the trends and some specific cases in US market to give a wider perspective. Second, global cement sector and the corporate activity trend in the global cement sector are explained in details. As the cement sector has oligopolistic business nature, globally, the companies experienced many corporate activities in past. Third, try to indicate the facts in Turkey, in terms of the corporate activities, in addition the general outlook of the Turkish cement sector explained. It gave me an opportunity to compare the current conditions in Turkish market with the past conditions and trends in the developed markets. This comparison allows me to predict the future trends inTurkish cement market. Finally, the conclusion showed that Turkish cement sector is offering opportunities for the strategic corporate activities.
