This study is presented in two interdependent parts. Dr. Martin Wyllie completed his doctoral thesis at the University of Aberdeen under the supervision of Professor Eric Matthews an Emeritus Professor and Honorary Research Professor in Medical Ethics and the Philosophy of Psychiatry. Dr. Wyllie has published work in the philosophy of psychiatry.
