The main purpose of the study conducted in this book is to investigate the validity of metacognitive judgements, Aka Tip of the tongue state (TOT): the phenomenon of failing to retrieve a word from memory, combined with partial recall and the feeling that retrieval is imminent. A group of young people are asked to spontaneously answer a questionnaire, which is designed to function as a test to trigger the feeling of knowing judgement in participants, with the aim of further studying the correlation between those FOK judgements triggered and the eventual end result. This book examines the coherence between feelings of knowing judgements and targets' retrieval to challenge hypotheses claiming that metacognitive judgements experienced in TOT state are definite indicators of eventual successful words retrieval in memory.
