This research is related with environmental protection sciences and human health. It deals with the unprocessed industrial effluents which are frequently used for the cultivation of crops and vegetables in most developing countries. Some well-known diseases may be caused in human bodies by the consumption of such polluted diet. There were three main objectives of this research. First was the investigation of the injurious pollutants and toxic metals, qualitatively and quantitatively, in industrial effluents, agricultural soils, crops and vegetables. Second was the evaluation of industrial pollution levels according to the recommendations of World Health Organization and National Environmental Quality Control Standards. The third one was the development of reliable, efficient and economical treatment methods for the reduction of the industrial pollution up to the safe limits. Ultra filtration membrane therapy and Sweet peanut husk fence were developed and successfully applied for the reduction of pollutants from effluents.
