Even though, corrosion is an all-too-common result of electrochemical reactions between materials and substances in their environment, the metallic corrosion has captivated many researchers as it leads to a loss of structural integrity. This book is written in order to provide a framework for learning particular research topics in the area of corrosion science and engineering. Main emphasizes are given to the metallic corrosion of the type sputter-deposited tungsten-molybdenum (W-Mo) alloys and annealed iron wires in the aggressive corrosive media. To analyse metallic corrosion behavior quantitatively, the electrochemical measurements such as open circuit potentials and potentiostatic polarization along with weight loss method are thoroughly discussed. The corrosion resisting power of the sputter-deposited W-Mo alloys and the annealed iron wires are explained separately in detailed. Additionally, the fundamental experimental procedure listed in this book would put needful impactsin the R & D sectors of the iron and alloy industries. The author has believed that the content of this book would be highly applicable to produce better quality iron and steel products in the world.
