Meteoroids are pieces of space debris that enter the Earth's atmosphere at high speeds. They break through the atmosphere and then vaporize. The resulting gasses create a streak of light that is called a meteor. Some meteors are so small that they barely leave a trail. There are three main types of meteorites. These are: Stony/Iron, Carbonaceous Chondrite, and Micrometeorite. Generally, they are all made of iron and nickel. Most of them are also composed of silicon and oxygen.
