Based on the quantitative methodology with focus on correlational design, the present study has as main objective to determine the association between the methodological strategies used in the teaching of Chemistry and the academic performance of students of three secondary schools in the province of Maputo, Mozambique. In this sense, a Likert scale survey was applied to 178 tenth grade students, of which 82 were males and 96 were females, aged between 14 and 19 years.
