The monograph presents the main methodological approaches used in modern historical-pedagogical research. The analysis of available methodological works in the field of the history of pedagogy and education allowed the author to highlight the features of historical-pedagogical knowledge (to present its model). Based on the analysis of the theory and practice of the methodology of the history of pedagogy and education the methodological principles are presented and the methods of historical-pedagogical knowledge are specified. In order to facilitate the understanding of the specifics of historical and pedagogical research the work is provided with factual material, as well as historical and pedagogical vocabulary.
