Arabic language has attained the status of an International language. United Nations has adopted Arabic as one of its six official languages. Arabic language plays a vital role in the commercial and the cultural fields in the globalizational era. Arabic is a very rich language, which can be compared to an ocean without any limits of depth or width. The main focus of teaching any non- native language is to enable the learner to employ the four language skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking); In order to develop these skills, the teacher must choose the appropriate teaching methods and employ them during the educational process. This study aims to provide some suggestions towards the betterment of Arabic teaching in the Indian context. Some of the strategies and issues directly related to teaching Arabic as a foreign language using structural approach are also discussed in this book. These are mere experiences encountered by the researcher as a faculty member in Arabic for about three generations. This work is designed to meet the methodology and teaching needs of Arabic at the graduation and post-graduation levels.
