Complete dentures continue to be the most common treatment alternative for edentulous patients. An effective oral hygiene regimen is important to control denture plaque biofilm and contributes to the control of associated oral and systemic diseases. Dentures accumulate plaque in a way similar to that of teeth. Regular oral and denture hygiene procedures play a major role in the maintenance of oral health and the long-term success of removable prosthodontics treatment. Several denture cleaning methods are used for the reduction of denture plaque, debris, and stains. Denture hygiene is essential in maintaining serviceability of the denture.
