A brilliant career as a judge, the respect of those around her, an independent life... Carlota had everything to be happy. However, she always missed Christmas. When, at the age of twelve, her mother Carlota revealed her great secret to her, she knew that nothing would ever be the same again. The word "bastard" became a stigma for her. The word "family" never meant the same again. The call of her dying father many decades after her will force her to struggle between the desire to know and the need to flee. With the magnificent narrative cadence that characterizes Paloma Sâanchez-Garnica, the author of La sonata del silencio weaves together an emotional novel, capable of generating intrigue in the reader and whose characters masterfully outline this story of secrets and lies.
