Josep Miás was Associate Architect to the office of Enric Miralles from 1990 to 2000. MiAS Architects has gained international recognition for projects such as the Fontanals Golf Club, the Urbanization of the Historic Center of Banyoles, the Barceloneta Market, the 22@ Plug-in Building, the iGuzzini Spain HQ, the Torrebaró Apartment Tower Barcelona, their ongoing collaboration with the amusement park Tibidabo, the Cloud Andorra Telecom HQ, and with their shortlisted proposal for the new F.C. Barcelona Stadium Camp Nou. MiAS Architects has received numerous international awards and was first winner of prices such as the COAC Barcelona Catalonia Architecture Award for the Best Building between 2008 - 2013 (2013), the International Stone Architecture Award (2013), the Architizer Building of the World Award (2013), the Archdaily Building of the Year Award (2011), A + Architecture Award for the Best Educational Building in Spain (2011), the Catalonia Construction Award (2009), the City of Barcelona Architecture and Urbanism Award (2007), the Girona Architecture Award (2007), and AJAC Best Young Catalan Architect Award (2004). Selected MiAS projects have been the focus of publications in various international journals, books and magazines, as well as being exhibited at COAC (Barcelona, Spain), Cité de l'Architecture (París, France), Nuevos Ministerios (Madrid, Spain), Satdelschule (Frankfurt, Germany), Architektur Forum (Zurich, Switzerland), TU University (Berlin, Germany), House of the Architecture (Kiev, Ukraine), The Bartlett School of Architecture (London, UK), Anhembi Morumbi (Sao Paulo, Brasil), WAF Singapore, University of Nis (Nis, Serbia), University of (Belgrade, Serbia), and in 2012 and 2014 at the Biennale di Venezia (Venice, Italy). Josep Miás has given lectures, workshops, and participated in juries at numerous universities in Spain, Italy France, UK, Portugal, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, Switzerland, United States, Ukraine, Mexico, Uruguay, Panama, Singapore, and Brazil, among others. Josep Miás was engaged in teaching practices at universities including ETSAB and ETSAV, UPC Catalan Politecnic University, UIC, La Salle URL (Barcelona, Spain), UNISS University of Sassari, (Alghero, Italy), Staedelschule (Frankfurt, Germany), and Harvard GSD (Cambridge, USA), among others. He is currently Professor of Architecture at the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London, and Visiting Professor at UNISS, Italy.
