A total of 10 soil samples were selected from different locations and inoculated on Nutrient agar medium. Pigment producing bacteria screened for antibacterial and antifungal activity and those were not shown any activity selected for further applications. Serretia spp., Erythrobacter spp. micrococcus and Azorhizobium spp. isolated and their pigments extracted in acidified ethanol.Pigments of Serretia and Erythrobacter were used for dying the cloth and it can hold a promising potential to meet present day challenge.
