Micronutrient deficiencies are due to malnutrition and associated ill health throughout the world. This is particularly true in the developing countries like India. Deficiencies of Vitamin A, iron, iodine and riboflavin are known to be especially prevalent and are associated with range of mild to severe effects. Madurai district was selected for conducting the survey and Madurai South, Vadipatti and Melur taluks were selected. Since women are the most vulnerable group of many micronutrient deficiencies, they were target group for the nutrition education. Rural women 20-40 years were as subjects and totaly 90 number of respondents. Multimedia compact disc (MCD) was prepared to educate the respondents. MCD programme was prepared with emphasis on the importance of micronutrients, deficiency disorders, clinical symptoms, nutritional status, prevention of micronutrient deficiency and micronutrient rich foods. Nutrition education through MCD had a great impact on the respondents. Nutrition education had an influence over consumption of micronutrient rich foods in their daily diets. After exposure to Nutrition education most of the respondents were aware about the use of iodized salt.
