Solanum nigrum was initially grown, in the soil through seeds, and also in the petri dishes. For the purpose of micropropagation, MS basal medium was used along with different PGRs i.e, BAP, 2,4-D, NAA and their different combinations. Effects of different physical and chemical factors on the in vitro growth of these explants were studied. As far as, physical factors were concerned, it was noted that 22 2 C for in vitro growth of Solanum nigrum was used. It was also observed that the micropropagation of Solanum nigrum in liquid medium gave only 5% in vitro growth. Whereas, solidified medium…mehr

Whereas, solidified medium (using Difco-Bacto agar as Solidifying agent) gave 80% in vitro growth for the plant. The effect of different photoperiods was also observed with 16hrs photoperiod (3000 lux) in in vitro micropropagation of Solanum nigrum. Suitable maximum pH value for micropropagation was found to be 5.7 for in vitro growth was noted for Solanum nigrum.
