The roots are useful in the treatment of hypertension, cardiovascular diseases and as a tranquilizing agent. The extract of the root is valuable for intestinal problems. Roots are believed to stimulate uterine contraction in case of difficult delivery. Solanum trilobatum L., is an important medicinal plant. It has been widely used to treat respiratory disorders, especially bronchial asthma. Roots, berries and flowers are used to treat cough. It is used to cure asthma, to arrest blood vomiting, to reduce blood glucose level and bilious matter phlegmatic rheumatism and several kinds of leprosy.
