Montelukast sodium is available in oral conventional tablets, chewable tablets, and granules. Which has low bioavailability and it also causes temporary numbness upon oral administration. We made an attempt to overcome the problems by formulating montelukast sodium microsponge based hydrogels for transdermal delivery.
