Dielectric studies of binary and tertiary mixture of Nylon-11, Nylon-6, polystyrene and methyl cellulose with phenol derivatives p-Cresol, m-Cresol and o-Cresol and in different non-polar solvents CCl4, benzene and 1, 4-dioxane. The different concentrations of binary and tertiary mixtures have been carried out using Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) in the frequency range of 10 MHz to 20GHz at 303K. Dielectric parameters such as static permittivity 0, relaxation time , excess permittivity ( )E and inverse relaxation time (1/ )E were determined and discussed to yield information on the molecular structure and dynamics of the mixture. The dielectric constant and relaxation time were found to be high in the presence of p-Cresol and CCl4 in binary and tertiary mixtures of Nylon. Using the FTIR, AFM and optical microscope, we characterized the polymer-phenol fluid mixtures to support our dielectric results.
