Some Schiff base metal complexes of Cr(III), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) have been synthesized by conventional as well as microwave methods. These compounds have been characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, FAB-mass, molar conductance, electronic spectra, 1H-NMR, ESR, magnetic susceptibility and thermal analysis. The applications of microwave irradiation are used for carrying out chemical transformations, which are pollution free and eco-friendly. The basis of this technique of synthesis is much faster with higher yields compared to conventional synthesis.
