Autorenporträt
"Mary Ann Evans wrote seven novels under the pseudonym of George Eliot while becoming one of the most important writers of the Victorian era. Coming from provincial England, most of her works are situated within the location she was familiar with. Her writings catered to the dual themes of realism with a prominent underlying psychological insight. Her work helped develop the characteristic of psychological analysis in modern fiction. Evans was born on 22 November 1819 at an estate of her father's employer."
