Author Dennis Gaub retired in 2017 after a 45-year professional career that included 25 years as a reporter and editor for newspapers in four states, including Montana where he worked for the state's largest newspaper, the Billings Gazette. He also worked in the software industry as a proposal manager for a decade. He earned a journalism degree from Northwestern University and an MBA from the University of Montana. He is married and has two sons. A native Montanan, he attended high school in Miles City, Montana, until his junior year, at the same school where the subject of Midway Bravery, Jim Muri, was educated in the 1930s.
