Dr. Kelsey is a nationally certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP). She holds master's degrees in both nursing and adult and community education. She received her doctoral degree in 2005 with a major in adult, higher and community education from Ball State University. Dr. Kelsey's clinical practice has been in a variety of health clinics providing well woman care, family planning services, sexually transmitted infection diagnosis and treatment, and prenatal care.Dr. Kelsey is an Assistant Professor at Ball State University School of Nursing. She teaches advanced practice role and primary care of women in the family nurse practitioner track of the master's program. She has been the recipient of three School of Nursing Outstanding Teacher Awards, the Beta Rho Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society Excellence in Nursing Education Award, and the Ball State University Outstanding Nursing Alumnus Award.She has presented nationally on a variety of women's health topics including lab and diagnostic test interpretation in women's health, contraception, health screening recommendations for women, and writing for publication. She has also published articles on a variety of women's health issues and on professional development for WHNPs.In her role as Director of Publications for NPWH she led the writing of the 8th edition of the WHNP Guidelines for Practice and Education (2020). She also leads the writing of NPWH position statements and white papers.
