The position of a peripheral country causes a number of problems related to illegal immigration, experienced by Poland and Spain alike. The United States face a similar problem on the border with Mexico. Anna Sroka ¿ Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Warsaw. Her research links various aspects of the quality of democracy with issues of internal security, including the relationship between democracy, populism, radicalization and migration. Piotr Potejko ¿ Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations, Chair of Security Studies at the University of Warsaw. His research concerns the field of internal and international security of the state with particular attention paid to cyber security. Ruben Dario Torres Kumbrián ¿ Professor at the Department of Social Work, Faculty of Law, UNED. Her research interests concern various aspects of internal and external security of the European Union.
