Sekondi-Takoradi popularly called the twin-city are two historic cities in the Western region of Ghana. These two cities have a lot of heritage tourism potentials (tangible and intangible heritage) namely: culture, ecology and beaches that when harnessed and developed can become one of the world tourists' distinctions. However,urban problems such as unemployment, Poor sanitation, Pollution, Sprawling settlement and Traffic congestion hinder the development of these heritage potentials to their fullest level. It is in the context of this that this a study was undertaken to expose the heritage tourism potentials of Sekondi- Takoradi to the would-be investors. It also highlights the problems of the twin city with concrete strategies to help revitalize the twin-city especially Sekondi. The study was based mainly on both primary and secondary sources of data. It is divided into five parts: the first two chapters covered the general introduction,research problems the research methodology and literature review on migration and historic cities. The last chapters dealt with the profile of the twin- city, analysis of data collection and research findings.

Mr Emmanuel Yaw Attah is currently a lecturer at the Liberal Studies Department of Takoradi Polytechnic, Ghana. He graduated from the Brandenburg Technical University, Cottbus, Germany where he obtained Masters of Arts.(World Heritage Studies). He is also a professional teacher and had taught many secondary Schools in Ghana.
