This research has been conducted in five coastal villages of Bangladesh. It describes major push-pull factors, how migration contributes to reduce or increase vulnerabilities and impacts of migration. A bulk number of populations have been displaced due to climate induced extremes. There is also no scope to ignore the man-made causes like sea piracy, pressure from moneylenders, social insecurity and so on. Majority of migrants are living miserably who moved to seek shelter in big cities. Nonetheless a small number of them supposed migration as a livelihood diversification strategy. A holistic and mainstreaming development plan should be undertaken immediately and implement properly for addressing rapid urbanization and well-beings of coastal communities.
