M. Viswanathan, better known as Vichu to all his close associates, is a B Sc(Agri) graduate from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, India, with an MBA (Hons) from Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand. In addition, he holds an MPhil in Management from Periyar University, Salem, India. His work experience spans over 25 years in Agri-Business, in the field of Biotechnology, working for many prestigious organisations such as Ceylon Tobacco Company Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of British American Tobacco (BAT) in Sri Lanka, Indo American Hybrid Seeds, and Harrisons Malayalam Ltd., of the RPG group in India. In all these establishments, he worked as Chief Manager in charge of their agriculture ventures. His yearning for teaching management subjects to post-graduate students started soon afterwards when he worked as a Professor in the Department of Management Studies at New Horizon College of Engineering (NHCE) affiliated with Viswesvarya Technological University, and Acharya Bangalore B- School (ABBS) affiliated with Bangalore University. His passion for management subjects lies in the areas of Communication and Marketing. He was in academics for close to twenty years and retired from service in 2020. Viswanathan lives in Bangalore with his wife, two sons, and their families. His wife, Vijayalakshmi is a school teacher who heads the Resource Room Department that is involved in teaching children with learning disabilities. Their sons, Mahesh Krishna and Mukundan, are engineers working as executives in private companies. Viswanathan is an avid reader of books in Management and Fiction and depends on continuous learning to stay updated with the changing world.
