Susan Engelmore is a first time author, and living her lifelong dream of writing a children's book. She is passionate about animal welfare, and has volunteered at local animal shelters, a nature center, and an exotic animal rescue in Florida. While volunteering at her local SPCA four years ago, she adopted Milo. His inspirational story of survival and resilience was one the author felt compelled to share. He was given a second chance at life by Maddie's Shelter Program at Cornell University, and this is his story. It begins with being found lost in the woods, and follows his long path to adoption and a loving home. Milo continues to be an inspiration to the author every day.
