Vesa Hirvonen, Th.D. (2002), University of Helsinki, is Researcher at the University of Jyväskylä and the University of Helsinki. His publications on late medieval philosophy and theology include Passions in William Ockham's Philosophical Psychology (Kluwer 2004). Toivo J. Holopainen, Th.D. (1995), University of Helsinki, is Researcher at the University of Helsinki. He has published on early medieval philosophy and theology including Dialectic and Theology in the Eleventh Century (Brill, 1996). Miira Tuominen, Ph.D. (2002) in Philosophy, University of Helsinki, is Researcher at the University of Helsinki. She works on ancient philosophy, her main publication being Apprehension and Argument: Ancient Theories of Starting Points for Knowledge (Springer, forthcoming 2006). The editors are members of the History of Mind Research Unit, a Centre of Excellence funded by the Academy of Finland and the Universities of Helsinki and Jyväskylä.
