Emotional strain, shift work and extended working hours, pain, death, etc. expose the nursing profession to extraordinary stress. Many studies show an increased stress level and a high prevalence of burnout, especially among nurses. According to the WHO report, psychosocial stress is the greatest threat to well-being in the European region. "Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction" (MBSR) is a mild non-medication method to reduce stress. Jon Kabat-Zinn, Professor Emeritus of Medicine at the University of Massachusetts, developed the MBSR method based on Buddhist traditions. The author looks at the effects of MBSR on, among other things, quality of work, emotional strain, coping with stress and life satisfaction of caregivers. This book aims to help reshape the experience of everyday stress (not only for health professionals) so that the negative manifestations of stress do not occur in the first place. It aims to sensitise decision-makers to make care more humane in all respects. Learn to stay calm, not everything deserves a reaction!
