Emotional strain, shift work and extended working hours, pain, death, etc. expose the nursing profession to extraordinary stress. Many studies show an increased stress level and a high prevalence of burnout, especially among nurses. "Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction" (MBSR) is a mild non-medication method to reduce stress.
