Autorenporträt

Adam Jones is a retired professor of African history and culture, who has has published extensively in both English and German on the sources and history of West Africa, especially the Gold Coast and Benin. He studied German and modern history at Oxford University, worked as a teacher in Sierra Leone, and obtained his PhD at the Centre of West African Studies at the University of Birmingham before taking up various positions in Germany, finally becoming professor at the University of Leipzig. He has also been editor of the journal History in Africa.
