Mineral processing is concerned with upgrading of ore with the aim to generate high grade concentrate suitable for metal extraction. Different processes are involved including but not limited to crushing, grinding, concentration, solid liquid separation, drying etc. Modelling, simulation for prediction of process performances is quit challenging especially for beginner, especially last years of Metallurgical Engineering students. This student Manual is designed with the aim to provide final year students in the filed with necessary knowledge to be able to address the above mentioned need. It includes, through four chapters, the distribution functions, forces that apply on particles in concentration processes, the mineral liberation predictions, as well as the application of modelling and simulations to specific processes. It is expected from the reader a solid foundation in mineral processing technics.
