This book deals with minimization/removal of organic impurities from paper industry wastewater. The adsorption efficiency of various low cost waste materials readily available in nature is reported. The adsorbents are mainly disposed off as wastes and can be effectively used for adsorption of various organic impurities present in wastewater from paper industry. The comparison is made with respect to the uptake of organic components i.e. chemical oxygen demand (COD) and biological oxygen demand (BOD) of industrial wastewater. Various adsorption process parameters are reported in this book.…mehr

Various adsorption process parameters are reported in this book. Experimental adsorption data were modeled with various isotherm models available. The model which provides a very high degree of correlation with experimental adsorption data suggest that this model can be used in design applications. This book also reports that egg shells derived adsorbents can be used with greater effectiveness for organic matter removal from industrial wastewater. This would be of benefit not only to the manufacturing industry in terms of minimizing cost of COD and BOD treatment, but also to minimize the impact on the environment.
