In the present era of rapid industrialization, the mineral exploitation is assuming of astronautic proportion. The available minerals are located in the backward regions mostly populated by the tribal. The tribal people living in mining areas are largely having a self-sufficient natural way of life marked by traditional cultural practices for ages. The mineral extractions and concomitant outside interventions in these remote regions will have far reaching consequences to their livelihood. Therefore it is very pertinent to look into the larger effects of the mineral extractions over the lives and livelihood of the mining areas.
