The Priesthood is central to the success of any church and therefore many churches put an emphasis on how they form their priests since this invariably affects the output of them in the way they minister in practice. The growth or decline of the church, although dependent on other various factors, largely depends on the quality of leadership of the Priest. Priests however can only give what they have received. Therefore their formation largely determines how much growth and impact the church will experience. This book focuses on the Anglican Diocese of Accra, on how it forms its Priests. By tracing the history of the Anglican Church as well as the Anglican Diocese of Accra, this work highlights the various stages of ministerial formation that the Church in general and the diocese in particular has gone through to date. The Diocese's immediate context and Ga people's background, culture and worldview are also explored. Examining the curricula and feedback from Priests on the field, this book concludes that the curricula must be rethought in the light of African Theology, and greater emphasis laid on Personal Spirituality and use of the Local Language.
