It is located 7.1 miles (11.4 km) south-southeast of Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was formerly the location of Naval Air Station Twin Cities. Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport Air Reserve Base is home to the United States Air Force Reserve 934th Airlift Wing "Flying Vikings" who fly the C-130 Hercules aircraft. The 934th AW employs more than 1,300 Reservists of which about 250 are full-time. The 934th reports to 22d Air Force at Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Georgia.
