Missing Pieces: A Family Story Retold is composed of recently discovered correspondence written by members of a Jewish family during the rise and domination of Nazi Germany, from 1934 through 1943. The (translated) letters and cards are contextualized by explanations of events that particularly affected families who were German residents holding Polish passports. Before discovering and translating the correspondence, little was known about the experiences and fate of family members who were lost in the Holocaust. Thus, "Missing Pieces" adds greatly to family memoirs published previously."- Provided by publisher.
