This book views the history of African American slavery and its legacy. Jerzy Sobieraj is an associate professor of American literature at the SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities. His research focuses on Southern literature and African American studies. He is the author of Collisions of Conflict: Studies in American History and Culture, 1820-1920.
