This work deals with the study of myxomatous valvular degeneration (MVD) in dogs. The structure can be divided into a first part consisting of a literature review and a second part in which two clinical cases treated at the Veterinary Hospital of the University of León are developed. The bibliographic review includes citations about the definition, incidence, etiology, pathology, pathophysiology, pathophysiology, classifications of the disease mainly used and finally the diagnostic methods are detailed including the symptomatology, physical findings and complementary tests (blood and biochemical analysis, electrocardiography, radiography and echocardiography). The development of the two clinical cases includes the information gathered during the anamnesis, the general examination and the findings of the complementary tests performed, as well as the diagnosis and the prescribed treatment. In both cases we have been involved in the complete cardiological examination of the animal, from the general examination to the complementary methods performed in the revisions to which they have been submitted.
